Ultimate Friendly, May 1st

Woohoo! Looks like we're really close to gettin the softball field in UM on May 1st, coz the soccer field (usual field) will be closed :(

Tanja is meeting with Apizal from UM's Sports Center as I type this, and she'll put in a word for June 3rd too. Cross your fingers now!

  • Date: May 1st, 2006

  • Venue: UM's Softball field @ Varsity Green [map]

  • Time: 9am at the field, 9.30am start of first game.

1. Game Time: 80minutes or 13 points, whichever comes first. Half time is called by the first team to reach 7 points.

Soft cap at 70mins. No more timeouts can be called. FYI Soft cap is called at 10mins to total game time. Game is played to the sum of 2 points from the top score. Example, if score is 10-11, game is played till whichever team reaches 13 first.

If the game has not ended by 80mins(Hard cap), the current point is played on till a team scores. If the result of the point is a draw, another point is played. Whoever wins the point, wins the game.

Example, if the score is 10-11 in the 81st minute, the current point is played on till a team scores. If the score becomes 11-11, another point is played. Whoever reaches scores the next point to reach 12, wins the game.

2. Timeouts - 2 per game, one per half.

3. Team size: Minimum of 15 players.

4. Field size: Regulation field is 63 meters (70yards) by 36 meters,(40yards) with end zones 23 meters(25yards) deep. FYI 1yard = 0.9144 meters

5. Team ratio: 5 men : 2 women, if not 6:1.

6. Game format: CHS has 19 players, 14 boys, 5 girls!! Come on ppl, get your team together and let's play! Who else is coming?

Let's do this. If any team turns up with less than 15 players, we'll put the names in a hat and try to form new teams. That way, you get to play with some 'seasoned' or more experienced players, and learn some new skills and strategies from them. Hey! it's a good warm-up to the July 29th tournament :)

7. Prizes: There are NO prizes, medals (nor free lunch in this world). :P You get to walk off the field pumped up with adrenaline and disc-ful of satisfaction. Howaboutdat?

8. Food: BYOG - Bring your own grub

9. Drinks: BYODI - Bring your own drinks and ice. Lotsa water, get Oral Rehydration Salts(ORS) from pharmacies. Guardian sells sachets for 60cents. 100+ has sugar, but not enough salts and electrolytes, unless you choose Power Plus which makes your tongue pink (cranberry flavour, non-carbonated).

10. Sunscreen: No Nivea girls, so bring your own sunscreen/sunblock or tanning lotion/beach or deck chair if you must.
